A 55-year-old man was allegedly stoned to death at Khuntia Bagicha in Chudanga Sahi under the Town police station here on Friday.
The deceased, identified as Uma Shankar Acharya, was a resident of Chudanga Sahi. He was staying in a cabin shop in the locality due to family dispute.
Though the exact reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained, the elder brother of the deceased was arrested for his alleged involvement in the crime. It is suspected that he might have killed his sibling over property dispute. Meanwhile, the Town police have sent the body for postmortem and begun an inquiry into the incident.
