A man was stabbed to death by a miscreant at the crowded weekly market of Jirango in Gajapati district on Saturday. The victim was Ranjit Kumar Dandia (35) of Rasibada.
This was fallout of a love matter, said the deceased’s wife Suchitra. She said that one Bapuni Achary (30) was trying to have love relations with her, but later she married Ranjit. When she went with Ranjit to the market, suddenly Bapuni attacked Ranjit and stabbed him.
Bapuni was caught by the Jirango bit house police and forwarded to the Rayagada police station. Ranjit’s grandfather Ajambar Dandia filed a complaint at the police station stating that Bapuni belongs to Kankarada of Seragada in Ganjam district. SDPO Ramakrushna Pati started enquiry into the incident, said Rayagada police station IIC Gobinda Gauda.
