The Bonei police arrested a man and his two sons and forwarded them to court on Friday for allegedly killing a couple suspecting them of practising witchcraft.
Sources said, one Sonu Munda’s wife had fallen ill eight days ago and passed away during her treatment at the Debgarh Hospital. Sonu was suspecting his father’s elder brother Fagu Munda and his wife Nilabati Munda behind the death of his wife as the couple had been practicing sorcery.
On Wednesday night, Sonu along with his elder brother Pabitra and father Panduru Munda went to Fagu’s house and killed Fagu and his wife with axe. They had also attacked the couple’s daughter Binati and her cousin Nabin leaving them critically injured.
During interrogation, the accused trio confessed their crime, said Bonei police station SI RK Biswal.
