A father-son duo sustained burn injuries after the fuel tank of a two-wheeler exploded at Torana in Puri district on Monday.
One Sabita Behera along with her husband and her six-year-old son, residents of Balugaon, had gone to her parent’s place at Torana to spend Puja vacation.
While the minor child was playing in front of the house, a motorcycle parked outside the house caught fire and its fuel tank exploded. The impact of explosion was such that the child’s dress caught fire.
The family members rushed outside the house hearing the crying sound of the child. In an attempt to douse the fire, the father of the child sustained burn injuries.
The local villagers rescued them. Both were rushed to the Capital Hospital here in a critical condition.
However, the reason behind the fire mishap was not known.
