Man shot with arrows over land feud

A land dispute in Kamarguda village of Malavaram panchayat under the Motu police station in Malkangiri district took a violent turn on Thursday as a heated argument between a family’s members resulted in a man being seriously injured by arrows.

The victim, identified as Boji Beti, was rushed to the local MV-79 Hospital in critical condition, with three arrows lodged in his hand and one in his back.

The dispute began when Boji attempted to fence off a piece of land, which was met with opposition from his elder brother’s son. Tensions escalated and his cousin in a fit of rage shot four arrows at him. Three of these arrows struck Boji’s hand, causing serious injuries, while one arrow found its mark on his back.

Efforts to shift him to the District Head quarters Hospital were hampered by heavy rainfall and flooding along the MV-96 highway.

As a result, he was admitted to the MV-79 Hospital for immediate medical attention. The Motu police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
