In a barbaric incident, a man set his wife and nine-month-old daughter on fire at Chirima village under Kosagumuda block in the district on Thursday over a domestic feud.

Sources said that one Tankadhara Bhatra of the village set afire his wife and minor daughter after pouring kerosene on them. locals alleged that earlier there was a fight between Bhatra and his wife over some domestic matter, after which he took the gruesome step.
The Kadinga police arrived at the spot and doused the flames and seized the bodies of the woman and the girl. Interrogation of Bhatra, who surrendered to cops, was underway. Sources said the woman was the fifth wife of Bhatra.
