A man allegedly killed his deceased daughter’s mother-in-law at Annapurna Sahi under the Buguda police limits in Ganjam district on Saturday evening.
According to reports, Bharati Sahu, daughter of accused Padmanabha Sahu, had committed suicide on October 30, 2017, after allegedly being tortured by her in-laws over dowry demand.
Family members of the woman had lodged a police complaint in this regard alleging that she was murdered. Police had arrested Bharati’s husband Raghunath Sahu, mother-in-law Kanak Sahu, father-in-law Kabi Chandra Sahu and brother-in-law Santanu Sahu in this connection.
Padmanabha, in a bid to avenge his daughter’s death, attacked Kanak, who was recently released from jail, at her residence and killed her by slitting her throat with a sharp weapon.
