A 58-year-old man, Chitrasen Das, of Kasoti village in Kendrapada district was found lying in an unconscious state at a burial ground with his hands and legs tied and mouth gagged on Tuesday morning.
Das was rescued by some locals and was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital.
Sources said while Das was going to see a cultural event near his village on Monday night, some miscreants allegedly took him to the nearby ground and tied his hands and legs and fled from the spot.
Acting on an FIR lodged by Das’s son Babrubahan, the Marshaghai police registered started inquiry into the alleged matter. It is said that land dispute between Das and some of his fellow villagers might be a reason behind the incident.
