A man of Jajpur district was thought to be dead after he vanished from his home five decades ago and did not return to his village Rathia under Dharmasala block. But to the surprise of all, he reappeared on Monday.
Kusa Mallick’s family had all but given up hope of seeing him again after he disappeared from his village in 1967. But they were both shocked and surprised on Monday when Kusa returned back to his village from Kolkata where he worked in a company.
His brother Chakradhar had died three years back. Some elder villagers recognised him. Kusa’s family had almost given up hope of finding him. They were delighted on Monday after Kusa returned to the village. “I will stay in the village till my death and won’t go anywhere,” said Kusa.
“We are happy when our uncle returned to the village after 50 years. Now he will live with us,” said Nagendra, a nephew of Kusa.
