In a gruesome incident, a man and his mentally-disabled son were apparently murdered late on Monday evening at Badasahi Joginuagaon in Mayurbhanj district.
While locals recovered the body of Karmu Mohanta, which was buried in the river bank near the village, they rescued his son Chhatu in a half-burnt condition with his limbs tied. However, Chhatu died on his way to the hospital.
Circumstantial evidences suggest that it was a case of double murder, police sources said.
Police have seized the bodies and sent them for postmortem after registering a case and began its investigations.
Since Karmu’s younger son Sambhu earlier had a fight with him, police suspected his involvement in the twin murder.
