Miscreants looted Rs 50,000 after breaking the dickey of a bike near Gopalsagar here on Wednesday.
The bike owner was identified as MuralidharDas from Baulapur under Punanga panchayat, 5 km from here.
Das lodged a complaint at the Jagatsinghpur police station stating that he had Rs 2 lakh with him, out of which he deposited Rs 1.5 lakh in the Kalinga Gramya Bank branch on the town’s outskirts and kept Rs 50,000 in bike dickey and moved to the local SBI branch at Gopalsagar.
He parked the bike in front of the bank and went to a shop. After returning to the bike, he found he dickey broken and the cash missing.
After registering a case, police have started investigation by examining the footages of the CCTV installed at the SBI branch, said Jagatsinghpur police station IIC Rajanikanta Misra.
