In a deeply shocking incident, a man allegedly crushed his wife to death with a stone at Tikarpada village under Saintala tehsil of Balangir district on Thursday morning.
Police arrested the accused and seized the woman’s body.
According to reports, a heated exchange of words had taken place between Srinivas Sahoo and Jayashree over some domestic issues. It later took an ugly turn as Srinivas, losing his cool, attacked her with a stone and crushed her head in a fit of rage, resulting in her death on the spot.
On being informed, police reached the spot, arrested Srinivas and sent his wife’s body for postmortem. Investigation into the incident was underway.
