In a shocking incident, a man hacked his wife to death in Malkangiri district as she refused to take alcohol.
The accused Padia Padiami came home at Kurukundi village under the Kalimela police station on Thursday evening in an inebriated state and offered alcohol to his wife. When his wife Koshi refused to take it despite repeated insistence, an enraged Padiami allegedly attacked her and two daughters with a sharp weapon injuring them critically. While a profusely bleeding Koshi succumbed to her injuries on her way to the hospital, the two girls are undergoing treatment at the District Headquarters Hospital.
“Villagers admitted us to the hospital,” said Reena, an injured daughter of the accused. Padia Padiami has been absconding since the incident.
