A man killed his wife for allegedly not cooking food for him. The incident took place in village Ledibahul under the Jamenkira police station in Sambalpur district on Friday night.
According to police reports on Sunday, Upendra Dip (35), working as a wage-earner, had been managing his family consisting of wife Binodini (30), two sons, a Class-IV student and an Anganwadi student.
After reaching home in the night, he asked Binodini to serve food. When Binodini said she had not cooked, he started hitting her with a stick for a quite long time. Binodini fell unconscious and next morning she was found dead.
Upendra surrendered in the Jamenkira police station. Police arrested him and registered a case against him.
