A man allegedly murdered his wife and dumped her body in a forest in Purnachandrapur under the Morada police limits in Mayurbhanj district on Monday.
According to reports, Jena Bhakta and his wife Golapi had a heated exchange of words on Sunday night over a family dispute. The incident took an ugly turn when Jena thrashed Golapi to death with a wooden plank.
The accused dumped the woman’s body in the nearby forest on Monday morning and covered it with leaves. However, locals spotted the body and informed the police.
The police detained Jena for questioning and started investigation into the incident. The body was recovered by the police.
