A man allegedly killed his pregnant wife over dowry at Atharabatia village in the Pattamundai area of Kendrapada district on Tuesday evening.
Reports said the deceased Krishna had married to accused Sidhanta Sethy two years ago. Krishna’s mother alleged that Sidhanta strangled her daughter to death following an argument between the two over dowry.
She further alleged that family members of Sidhanta were harassing Krishna for a long time and were also involved in the murder.
Acting on a complaint lodged by the family members of the deceased, the Pattamundai police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident.
