A person allegedly killed his 50-year-old mother and dumped the body near a playground at Mungapada under the Jharsuguda Town police limits on Tuesday night. The mutilated body of Usha Rout was recovered by police on Wednesday.
According to police sources, Usha’s son Mitu was in a live-in relationship with a woman, who was staying with them in their house at Mungapada. On Tuesday night, a verbal duel took place between Mitu and his mother, following which Mitu, losing his cool, crushed her head with a stone.
