In a highly shocking incident, a youth allegedly killed his father over a property dispute at Samarjhola village under the Hinjili police station in Ganjam district on Monday.
Sources said the accused identified as Dibakar Rao (30), went to her married sister’s house in the village in the morninbg, where his father Krishna Rao stays with her.
A hot exchange of words took place between Krishna and his son Dibakar over sharing of property. Suddenly in a fit of rage Dibakar thrashed his father to death with an iron rod.
Villagers caught hold of Dibakar while he was trying to flee from the spot after committing the crime. He was later handed over to police. Investigation into the matter is underway.
