A person allegedly killed his 10-year-old daughter by slitting her throat at Gobardhanshola village under the Baripada Sadar police limits in Mayurbhanj district on Wednesday night.
The accused, identified as Sania Dehury, was arrested.
According to reports, Sania tied her minor daughter following a family feud and then killed her.
On being informed, police reached the spot on Thursday morning. However, Sania tried to attack the cops and villagers with bow and arrow. He was later apprehended by the police. “A case has been registered into the incident. The body has been sent for postmortem. The actual reason behind the killing can be ascertained after investigation,” a police official said.
