Aman from Jeypore came out unhurt after a passenger train ran over him on Thursday morning, said Government Railway Police sources.
At around 10 am, Srinivas Patnaik (30) of Nuasahi in Jeypore staying at Sailashree Vihar under Chandrasekharpur police limits jumped into a railway track of Bhubaneswar railway station after seeing a passenger train.
The loco pilot stopped the running train to take stock of the situation, said Inspector-In-Charge of GRP Saubhagya Swain adding, “The youth was rescued unhurt from the track after train was moved back.”
He might have tried to commit suicide but his brother, who is working at the Secretariat, said that Srinivas was mentally sick. “No case has been registered following the incident and we handed him over to his brother,” Swain said.
