Kuna Sahoo, a resident of Mamudia village under the Chendipada police station in Angul district, sustained serious injury as two unidentified bike-borne miscreants opened fire on him near Kanjipani when the victim along with his relative Subrat Sahoo was going to Ghatagaon by a car.
The incident occurred early on Sunday morning while the victim and his relative were passing through the Kanjipani ghat road on NH-6. Two bike-borne miscreants tried to stop the car by brandishing a gun at the driver. When the driver tried to speed away, the miscreants opened two rounds of fire at Kuna and Subrat. Kuna, who sustained injuries in his stomach, was rushed to the Keonjhar hospital, from where he was referred to the SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack. The Kanjipani police have initiated an inquiry into the incident.
