A woman of Sundargarh has been cheated by her live-in-partner as the latter has left her and their 14-month-old daughter and taken Rs 4.50 lakh from her account and is now living with his new lover in Mumbai,
The woman has lodged an FIR against him with the Sundargarh police who, after registering a case, are now investigating it.
Sources said Sushila Kujur (30), a resident of Kiralaga Patiaora village under the Talsara police station, had gone to Mumbai along with her cousin aunt to work there while she was nine years old. She worked in Mumbai at several places and earned a good amount of money. There on January 26, 2012, Sushila had met one Amar Kumar Malik (35), a resident of Rajkanika, Kendrapada. After this, they developed a love relationship and started living together.
On December 4, 2014, Sushila along with Amar came to Amar’s house in Kendrapada and started living there. She gave birth to a girl on December 29, 2014. Sushila and Amar along with their baby had stayed in the house till April 10, 2015.
Thereafter, Amar and Sushila went to Kirlaaga to Sushila’s house and stayed there. During their stay at Sushila’s parents’ house, when villagers came to know about Sushila’s live-in-relationship with Amar, a meeting was held at the village where Amar had assured that he would marry Sushila.
After staying there for three days, Amar went to Cuttack to do pipeline work, leaving Sushila and their daughter at Kiralaga. Some days later, Sushila along with her daughter went to Cuttack and stayed there with Amar in a rented house till November 2015. In December 2015, Amar suddenly disappeared.
When Amar did not return home, Sushila called him on his mobile phone and could come to know that Amar has gone to Mumbai and was living there with another woman, who is a resident of Rajkanika, with whom he was in love. Sushila also could know that Amar had withdrawn Rs 4.50 lakh from her account as he had taken her ATM card with him.
Sushila stayed in Cuttack for about three months anticipating that Amar might return. But when Amar did not return, she came back to her house at Kiralaga in Sundargarh. She recently met Sundargarh Additional Superintendent of Police PK Patel and narrated her plight to him. As per the direction of Patel, Sushila lodged her FIR at the Talsara police station against Amar. The Talsara police, after registering a case against Amar under IPC Sections 498(a), 420 and 506, started investigating it.
According to sources, police have talked to Amar on his mobile and instructed him to come to Sundargarh at the earliest.
“After receiving the complaint from Sushila Kujur, we have registered a case against Amar Malik,” said Talsara police station Sub-Inspector lK Pradhan. “We will nab accused Amar Malik very soon.” Pradhan added.
