The Rourkela Sector-7 police on Saturday arrested and court-forwarded a man on the charge of forcibly putting sindoor (vermilion) on his widow sister-in-law (elder brother’s wife)’s head in an intention to marry her.
Source said Suprabha Nayak has been staying with her son in Sector-5 Golghar Basti after the death of her husband. Her brother-in-law Akhil Nayak (40) is also staying near to her house along with his wife and children. Akhil used to quarrel with Suprabha on many occasions.
Even the police had earlier arrested Akhil on her complaint. According to the recent complaint lodged by Suprabha, Akhil was intending to keep her as his kept, and two days ago forcibly put sindoor on her parting.
