The Derabish police arrested and forwarded one Krushna Chandra Mallick of Nilikana village under Kauapada gram panchayat on the charge of killing his wife Dalli Mallick in a dowry torture case. Though the incident had occurred on April 20, 2012, Krushna had been on the run.
Derabsih PS IIC Md Mozamil Khan said deceased Dalli’s father Khirod Mallick had lodged an FIR against his son-in-law Krushna and his family members for killing his daughter as their persistent demand for dowry could not be met. Accused Krushna had managed to evade arrest after the incident and even, the court had issued a non bailable warrant against him.
Recently, the police got to know that Krushna had returned home and was living in the village secretly. Soon, his house was raided and Krushna was arrested.
Police had arrested the Krushna’s family members.
