A 32-year-old person was arrested and forwarded to court here on Thursday for allegedly beating his wife regularly in an inebriated condition.
Bijay Kumar Naik, a resident of Gandhi Colony at Kansbahal of Sundargarh district, had married Sanjukta Naik (30) seven years ago. The couple has two daughters. While Bijay is a truck driver, Sanjkuta is a teacher at a Government primary school. As per the FIR lodged by Sanjukta, her husband comes home in an inebriated condition and beats her regularly.
The Mahila police arrested Bijay and forwarded him to court under Section 498(A) of IPC, said Mahila PS IIC Prativa Majhi.
