A property dispute turned ugly as a person allegedly hacked his younger brother to death at Jiral village in Boudh district on Saturday night. Reports said Anand Swain and his younger brother Bibhishan engaged in a verbal duel over a property dispute. The dispute later turned violent as Anand lost his cool and hacked Bibhishan with an axe injuring the latter grievously.
The victim’s daughter laxmi also sustained critical injuries while trying to save his fathers as she was attacked by Anand too.
he accused fled from the spot after committing the crime. Bibhishan and the girl were admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police have started investigation into the incident after registering a case.
