A middle-aged man was hacked to death at the Badambadi bus terminus here on Monday morning. Police retrieved the body of Ganesh Rout (42), a native of the local Shankarpur area, at around 6 am with multiple sharp injuries on it.
The police suspected that more than one person is involved in this gruesome murder, in which sharp weapons like swords or daggers must have been used. While no one was arrested in this connection, preliminary reports indicated that previous rivalry could be the motive behind the crime.
Meanwhile, in the last week’s Kandarpur triple murder case, all the three arrested persons were produced before court on the day. After their bail applications were rejected, they were remanded to judicial custody.
