The Sessions Judge of Baleswar V Jayashree on Tuesday, convicting an accused involved in rape and murder of a minor, sentenced him for life along with Rs 15,000 penalty.
Daitrai Singh of Channapur village had allegedly committed the crime with a 4-year-old victim, who happens to be one of his distant relatives on April 14, 2010, when her parents were out for jobs. The father of the victim had lodged a complaint with the Sadar police under different Sections of IPC.
The court pronounced the order after cross-examining as many as 10 witnesses and verifying other documents pertaining to the case.
