Additional District and Session Judge (ADJ) SR Bohidar on Tuesday sentenced accused Prasanna Deuria to life imprisonment for the murder of one Dhaneswar Pradhan of village Handatupa under the laikera police limits in the year 2013.
Deuria was also asked to pay a fine of Rs 10,000, failing which he would undergo another year of rigorous imprisonment. On August 8, 2013, Deuria allegedly committed the gruesome murder of Pradhan due to a longstanding land dispute between them.
However, another accused in this murder trial, Raju Panchbhaya, was acquitted on ground of lack of evidence. The case of murder had been registered against Deuria with the police by the deceased’s elder brother Jaykishore Pradhan.
