A man was found dead with multiple injuries on his body on a road at Behermala of Jharsuguda district on Friday morning by commuters. The deceased was identified as Bipin Sabat of Puruna Basti.
Police while recovering the body found deep injury marks in the head and neck of the deceased which indicated it as a clear case of murder. Jharsuguda SP Bikash Chandra Dash said the crime seemed to be an act of a past rivalry.
“The deceased’s body bore multiple injury marks which indicated that there was a tussle between the victim and the miscreants. Some cash was also recovered and the victim’s mobile phone was found.
So, robbery angle can be ruled out. We are questioning his family and relatives to ascertain if he had enmity with anyone.” he said. “We are investigating the case with the help of a forensic team. The motive behind the crime will be ascertained soon,” Dash added.
