A man was killed in a road mishap at Hajipur on Cuttack-Machhhagaon NH-55 on Thursday night. Protesting late arrival of an ambulance, an angry mob vandalised the vehicle and ransacked the Biridi hospital.
Guruprasad Mohapatra (42), a resident of Kulasarchuaon in 42 Mouza in Cuttack district, was returning home by his two-wheeler after attending a marriage. An unknown vehicle hit his scooty head on. Locals called for ambulance from the Biridi hospital but none replied. By private arrangement, Mohapatra was sent to the SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack, but he died on the way.
