A man was killed after coming in contact with a live electric wire at an open field in Pallalahara town in Angul district on Sunday. He was identified as Gulu Mohanta, a resident of Mohanta Sahi in the town. Locals found the charred body of the youth lying at the field in the morning.
According to reports, the 33-year-old man had gone to the field behind Malyagiri College to irrigate through a motor for vegetable farming. For this purpose, he had a power connection illegally by connecting an open GI wire with an active wire from a classroom of college.
