In order to grab a person’s land, a Revenue Inspector (RI) here declared him to be dead and distributed his land among a few others. Now, the victim has appealed for justice before the court of the Sundargarh Sub Collector.
Sources said six persons identified as Company Mohapatra, Debarchan Mohapatra, Mukund Mohapatra, Bhimsen Mohapatra, Anand Mohapatra and Debanand Mohapatra had share in total 34 plots measuring 23.19 acres at lakrakani and Kheriakani villages under Bhasma police station.
In 2012, Company, Mukund , Bhimsen , Anand and Debacharn hatched a plan and accordingly declared Debanand as dead and unmarried. Then they applied before the then Sundargarh Sadar Tehsildar for distribution of Debanand’s plot amongst themselves.
When the Tehsildar asked Bhasma Revenue Inspector (RI) for report against their claim, the RI allegedly being hand in glove with the three claimants gave a fabricated report declaring Debanand as dead and unmarried person.
Thereafter, the total plot in which Debanand had share, was distributed amongst Company (3.94 acres), Mukund (6.31 acres), Bhimsen (4.22 acres), Susant, Baikuntha (4.31 acres) and Anand(4.26 acres).
These persons are now residing at Tangarpali area under Jharsuguda district. Susant and Baikuntha are sons of Debarchan. Since Debarchan had passed away, both his sons also took their share in the land.
Significantly, Debanand who is the victim of the fraudulent deal has wife and two children and his family is living in Mundadipa village under Bamra in Sambalpur district.
When Debanand came to know that his share of land had been grabbed in a deceitful manner, he appealed for justice on July 24 in the court of Sundargarh Sadar Sub Collector.
