One person was killed and five others were critically injured as two families in Mitilapur under the Narasinghpur police station in Cuttack district indulged in a clash over drawing of water from a tube-well.
According to information, family members of Subash Pradhan (41) and Arata Pradhan indulged in a bloody clash at around 11 pm on Saturday. While Subash died, his family members, Kamala Pradhan (51), Jharana Pradhan (23), Tikina Pradhan (53), Ramesh Pradhan (38) and Gambha Bhol (40) have been seriously injured in the fight.
All the five injured are undergoing treatment in the SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack. Acting on an FIR lodged against the Arata’s family members, the Narsinghpur police have detained Babuli Pradhan, a family member of Arata. Four other accused, including Arata, are still at large. The police has launced the hunt for the rest of accused.
