In a tragic road accident here, a man and his five-year-old daughter died on Tuesday afternoon while his seven-year-old son is battling for his life at the Ispat General Hospital.
Shocked over the tragedy, hundreds of locals staged a road blockade at the accident site demanding compensation to the family members of the deceased, for which the traffic in the route came to halt for about four hours. The man, along with his son and daughter, was on his way at about 2 pm from Kuanrmunda to Vedvyas by his two-wheeler. When he was crossing Jamunanaki on NH-143, a Maruti car hit them from the front. The girl died on the spot while the man and his son were rushed to hospital. Shortly later, the man succumbed to his injuries.
