An unidentified man was murdered brutally after being run over by a vehicle on the Sundargarh-Kanika road under the Lakhanpur police limits in Jharsuguda district on Wednesday night. His body was found on the road on Thursday morning.
As his face has been severely mutilated, the identity of the deceased was yet to be ascertained by police.The incident took place near Manikeswari Temple situated a few miles from Grindola village on the Sundargarh-Kanika road. It was prima facie suggested that person was abandoned on road after his face, hands and legs were tied up with clothes.
Later, a heavy vehicle ran over him, killing him on spot.The Lakhanpur police have initiated a probe into incident suspecting it to be a murder.
