A man was allegedly beaten to death by his two sons at Kalamba village under the Polasara police station in Ganjam district on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Abhimanyu Pradhan. Abhimanyu’s wife Apsara was critically injured when she tried to come to the rescue of her husband.
The injured Apsara was initially admitted to the Polsara hospital. .Later, she was referred to the MKCG Medical College Hospital here as her condition deteriorated further.
On receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and detained the two accused and are interrogating them.
Though the exact reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, family feud is suspected to have led to the horrific incident. Sources said the two accused were earlier arrested for murdering their brother.
