A 65-year-old man was axed to death allegedly by his daughter-in-law in village Ranapal under Panikoili police station in Jajpur district on Monday evening. “Utkal Hati, the husband of accused, filed an FIR in police alleging that Rupa Hati (25) in a sudden rage attacked his father Paban Hati with an axe and he died on spot as he suffered serious head injuries. The motive behind killing could not be ascertained immediately. We also still do not know modus operandi of murder. The exact cause of hostility between them is being investigated,” said Panikoili PS IIC Sushil Nayak.
