A woman sustained multiple injuries and admitted at the District Headquarters Hospital here after being attacked by her husband here on Thursday.
After committing the crime, the man tried to commit suicide by consuming poison. The couple was identified as Kaveri Jena (30) and her spouse laxman Sethi (37).
According to sources, Sethi had recently gone to his in-laws’ house after heated arguments with his wife and hit her with a knife causing multiple injuries. As a consequence, Kaveri was staying in her parents’ house at Jamkunda of Baliapal deserting her in-laws’ house at Khantapara.
According to sources, the couple’s marriage was held about nine years ago and they have a seven-year-old daughter.
