A dispute over property turned fatal as a man and his son allegedly thrashed the former’s younger brother at Dangapani village under the Gorumahisani police limits in Mayurbhanj district on Thursday.
The dispute was prevailing between Kuanr Nayak (55) and his younger brother Gumadi Nayak (50) over distribution of property. A fresh bout of quarrel ensued between the two brothers over the issue on Thursday morning and took an ugly turn as Kuanr and his son Ghana (25) beat Gumadi with a lathi, killing him on the spot.
Being informed, police reached the spot, seized the body and sent it for postmortem. Investigation into the matter started after registration of a case.
