The half-burnt body of a four-year-old male child was found in an abandoned stone quarry in the Agarpada jungle located by the side of Chhatabar-Khordha Road under the Chandaka police limits on the outskirts of the city.
Police sources said the child was wearing a black pant, a white-blue-black printed shirt and chappals. In this connection, the Chandaka police have registered a case under Section 302/201 of IPC. As the dead body could not be identified, police sent it to the Capital Hospital for postmortem after which it would be kept preserved in the hospital morgue for identification, said a police officer.
