The Utkal Sammilani Mancheswar branch president Dillip Dashsharma on Thursday said there is a need of some specific laws for installation, maintenance and shifting of statues of legendary leaders in the State as well as in the country.
Dashsharma said the incidents like shifting of statue of Gopabandhu in Puri, breaking the statues in the Satyabadi Bakulabana in the Odisha and the incident of vandalising the statue of lenin in Tripura have sparked controversies.
Dashsharma said that if specific laws are made at the national level, there would be no such incidents of razing of statues of legendary leaders.
