Make land Bill pro-farmer: SJM

Published on:

The Swadeshi Jagaran Manch (SJM) on Monday submitted a twelve-point charter of demands to the Prime Minister through the ADM, Rourkela, seeking changes in the current land Bill. After holding a demonstration here, manch local head Manoj Nayak said the present form of the Bill needs to be corrected in order to protect the interests of farmers.

He also said his organisation also oppose promotion of Genetic Modified Crops (GMC) and participation of foreign companies in the country’s e-commerce system. Among others, Babaji Sahoo, Golapi Kaushik, Surat Panda, Amulya Mishra and Ritesh Haldar were present.

The SJM will hold a nationwide farmers’ rally at Jantan Mantar in New Delhi on May 5 on these issues.
