'Make clear policy for sons-of-soil statues'

Expressing concern over the rising controversies over establishment, maintenance and transfer of statues of illustrious sons of the soil in the State, the Utkal Sammilani has demanded formation of a specific, clear-cut policy for installation, maintenance and transfer of these statues.

For this, the State Government should set up a committee comprising Government officers and eminent persons, said Sammilani Mancheswar Industrial Estate branch head Dillip Dashsharma at a workshop held.

“Formation of such policy would ensure that no issue or controversy is raised in future for establishing, maintaining and shifting of such statues,” he added. PNS
