The Enforcement Squad of the BDA and the BMC on Friday afternoon demolished the unauthorised Mahila vending zone near the Science Park under the Saheed Nagar police limits in the city.
The team demolished 64 unauthorised stalls in front of the Science Park and an unauthorised temporary hotel on the other side of the road.
Due to heavy resistance from the vendors, the eviction programme was stopped for an hour and then it started at 3.30pm with the help of the Commissionerate Police.
A woman became unconscious during the eviction drive. She was rushed to the Capital Hospital by 108 Ambulance, said BDA liaisioning Officer Subhransu Sekhar Mohanty.
