The Odisha Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee is going to organise a ‘Swabhiman Sankalp Samavesh’ at the party office here on October 25, informed Odisha Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee president Sumitra Jena at a Press meet on Tuesday.
She said Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik and All India Mahila Congress Committee secretary and Odisha Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee in-charge Sandhya Sawalakhe are scheduled to attend the rally as guests. Mentioning about the objective to unite women to fight against the callous attitude of both the Central and State Governments, she said both the Governments have failed to provide security to women as day by day atrocities against women are on the increase. They have also failed to implement 33-per cent reservation for women in the Parliament and the State Assembly, she added. Among others, women Congress leaders Bijaylaxmi Sahu, Pragyan Mantri, Ratnamani Ulaka, Swadhinbala Das, Jayshree Patnaik, Kanakalata Mallick and Bhagyashree Pradhan were present.
