Mahaprasad now available as suars back in job now

The Mahaprasad was available to devotees at the Shree Mandir here on Wednesday as the Suars (temple cooks) resumed their job following an amicable decision. The Suar Mahasuar Nijog on Thursday called off the two-day strike they were staging in protest against the arrest of a colleague on the charge of selling Mahaparasad in Bhitarbedha in the last week.

“We apologise to the devotees of the lords for not cooking Maprasad for two days. We were hurt as a fellow servitor was arrested. Had the district administration looked into the matter at the earliest, we would not have resorted to a strike. We have decided to call off our stir for the interest of the devotees,” Bada Suar Nijog secretary Biswanath Samantara told mediapersons on Tuesday. He clarified that the supakaras were forced to sell Mahaprasad inside the Bhitarabedha as the area inside Ananda Bazar has been space-constraint.
