Consents of her parents and relatives were obtained on the day for airlifting the victim, who was shifted to medicine ICU this morning, Kanungo added.

The Hospital superintendent also informed that the patient would be accompanied by a plastic surgeon and a paramedic staff along with three of her relatives, including her parents to New Delhi by an Air India plane.

Kanungo said the patient is fit to travel by air and in case of any emergency during the flight; adequate life supporting equipment would be put to use. Describing about the condition of the patient, the Hospital superintendent informed that the girl's respiratory tract has been infected and there is threat to her lungs.

It may be recalled here that a group of persons set afire the 14-year-old dalit girl last month after making an attempt to rape her. The victim has sustained over 70 percent burn injuries. Her condition further deteriorated when the fire mishap occurred in the burn unit of the hospital due to an electric short circuit.
