A group of city-based social organisations celebrated the birthday of Utkal Gaurav Madhusudan Das here on Tuesday. Representatives of the organisations including Manab Adhikar Suraksha Manch, Ganjam Zilla Bikash Manch, Utkal Sammilani Brahmapur unit, Mahan Sangha, Antarjatiya Odia Swabhiman Pratisthan and Bahumukhi Samaj Mangal and Sanskrutika Kendra garlanded Das’ statue at Gandhi Nagar.
After garlanding the statue, the members of the organisations came in a procession and staged a meeting here. Former Assembly Deputy Speaker Rama Chandra Panda and activists Abani Kumar Gaya, Basant Panda and Mohammad Aslam spoke about Madhubabu’s ideology and his contribution towards formation for separate State of Odisha.
