Preparations are on in Mayurbhanj district to accord a warm reception to Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Tribal Affairs Engineer Bishweswar Tudu on his arrival here on Tuesday. This being Tudu’s maiden visit to Odisha and Mayurbhanj after being sworn in as a Union Minister, the local BJP unit is making efforts for a grand welcome programme.
Tudu is scheduled to reach Bhubaneswar on Monday and proceed to Puri for Jagannath darshan. On Tuesday, he would arrive in his home district and Parliamentary constituency Mayurbhanj.
In the afternoon of Tuesday, Tudu would be taken in a huge procession to the party’s new district office, where he would be accorded reception.
A bike rally would also be held in the town in his honour.
On Wednesday, the party would hold a Press conference here, which the Minister would address and where he would present his report card to the media. In the evening, he would have an informal meeting and dinner with Sangh Parivar office-bearers.
Tudu, a popular tribal leader, is the first-ever Mayurbhanj leader in this century to become a Union Minister. The BJP has six MLAs in the district and the Zilla Parishad in its control.
